We're getting close! Most of the tracking for the album is done- 12 songs! Just have to record some harmonies, do some programming and mixing... My goal was Thanksgiving-that might not happen- but defintely before Christmas! I'll keep you posted here, and on twitter. I'm also starting to play out at open mics every week now.

Well, since my last post 2014 has ended and I am still working on the new album. I guess I've been busy with things in life besides music, but at the end of the day I know that's just an excuse.
I did accomplish something musical!...I recorded an EP of my dad's favorite hymns as a Christmas/ birthday gift. It was a great exercise in music theory and composition, as most of them I had to transpose to a different key and rework in my own acoustic style. It was also great practice in recording at home with my new audio/midi interface...I really learned a lot. You can hear the fruits of my labor on my youtubechannel.
I have been slowly but surely writing songs for my next album. I think it is better this way.

Welcome to my new website! I wish I would have done this years ago! I'm still trying to decide it it's too much or how I can improve it.
I decided to make a website since I am in the process of writing some new songs, and just like last time, I want to make sure I do everything I can to make this album a success. One thing I thought I could improve was having a real website, and I wanted to make it myself. I read some books from the library about HTML and CSS and took an online course in web design, but ultimately I realized coding from scratch is a stupid amount of work. Thus I discovered and downloaded Kompozer, a WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") website builder that is a free program similar to Dreamweaver.
Right now I've got three songs completely finished, with several more in various stages of completion. In the coming weeks I will be hashing those out and recording rough drafts at home. Then I need to find a bass player and lead guitarist, and also find a suitable local studio to record. My hope is to release the album sometime this fall.
